The story of the William Engine.

V1 beat voicemail. V2 runs every William today. V3, built to remove the robotic pause, arrives free for every V2 client by January 1, 2027.

Talk To The Team

Every William runs on one engine that Real Automation designs, builds and owns. It has grown up in three versions, and each one makes a phone call with an AI feel more personal.

  1. V1
    Where it started

    Better than voicemail.

The first William Engine was proprietary from day one. It had little call data to learn from and a small working memory, but it did the job: it answered every call, took the details and booked the work, better than the AI phone tools you could buy at the time and far better than voicemail or a phone menu.

It was a great fit for smaller businesses. Bigger companies, with more services, more locations and more rules, needed more.

  2. V2
    Running every William today

A personality, and the memory to use it.

V2 is a massive upgrade. William’s own knowledge-base system lets him hold more than 100 times the context typical voice AI works with, while keeping latency extremely low. He has learned from real calls across hundreds of service businesses.

Since V1, William has been trained for two things at once: turning callers into committed customers, and charisma. He doesn’t sound like a robot, and callers come away impressed by a phone experience they haven’t had before. Every V1 client was moved to V2 overnight.

  3. V3
    By January 1, 2027

    No pause. None.

V3 is being tested now and isn’t for sale yet. In Real Automation’s tests it responds faster than any voice AI platform you can buy today, and it is built to remove the robotic pause entirely: no dead air, no waiting while the AI thinks.

It holds more context than V2 and learns from more calls than any William before it, so every caller gets the most personal, data-backed conversation an AI can have on the phone. It rolls out free to every client on V2, overnight, by January 1, 2027.

One goal since V1: the most personal AI front desk on the market for service businesses.

V1, V2 and V3, answered.

What is the William Engine?

The William Engine is Real Automation’s own voice AI engine. It powers every William, the AI front desk Real Automation custom-builds for service businesses. Real Automation designs, builds and owns it, and never resells or white-labels it.

What is William V3?

William V3 is the third version of the William Engine. It is being tested now, isn’t for sale yet, and rolls out free to every client on V2 by January 1, 2027. In Real Automation’s tests it responds faster than any voice AI platform you can buy today, and it is built to remove the robotic pause entirely.

Are William V3, William Engine V3 and the V3 William Engine the same thing?

Yes. They are three names for the third version of the William Engine, Real Automation’s own voice AI engine.

What is the difference between William V1, V2 and V3?

V1 proved an AI front desk could beat voicemail and phone menus for smaller businesses, with little call data and a small working memory. V2, running every William today, holds more than 100 times the context of typical voice AI at extremely low latency, has learned from real calls across hundreds of service businesses, and carries the conversion and charisma training William has had since V1. V3 is built to remove the robotic pause, holds more context than V2 and learns from more calls than ever.

When will William V3 be released?

By January 1, 2027. Every client on V2 gets it free, overnight, with nothing to rebuild.

Is William V3 available now?

Not yet. V3 is being tested and isn’t for sale. Every new William starts on V2 today and moves to V3 automatically.

Do I have to pay for V3?

No. V3 is free for every client on V2.

What happens to my William when V3 arrives?

He keeps everything he has learned about your business: your services, service area, questions and rules. The upgrade arrives overnight, like an update on your phone.

Why does the pause matter on a phone call?

The pause between a caller finishing a sentence and the AI answering is what makes most voice AI sound robotic, and it’s often the moment callers give up. V3 is built to remove that pause entirely.

Is William built on someone else’s AI?

No. William runs on the William Engine, which Real Automation designed, built and owns. It isn’t a typical speech-to-text, chatbot, text-to-speech chain, and we don’t resell or white-label anyone’s platform.
